Mr.S.R.HIREMATH

"INDIA DEVELOPMENT SERVICE"
Mr.S.R. Hiremath is a founder of IDS (India Development Service). He has completed his bachelor degree in Hindi called Visharada from Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Dharwad. He got second rank in Visharada and went to United States for higher studies and continued his job career and stayed up to 10 years. He got inspired from books articles, such as freedom at midnight, lord mount batten, sarvagna’s triplates and Schumaker’s.
He started an organization called “India Development Service”. It is a non-profit organization working for social and economic development of India. These sectors organization covers – preventive health and health education, environmental awareness, joint forest planning, management wasteland development and sustainable agriculture etc.
Advocacy:
In Indian system Government has not provided any kind of proper approach for problems. For finding solution if social entrepreneurs are working in society they should have their own organized mechanisms for it. While working calculated risk should be managed by leaders.

“Be a change don’t think change outside”

The tool for change is advocacy, the method is ‘identifying problem which is related to particular community’ and make it as centric issue, aware that community. With the support of that community advocacy procedures should move further. While working with community Media involvement is necessary to reach the decided advocacy goal.
Gandhian and Einstein theories have introduced in advocacy. The Satyagraha tool is helpful to reach advocacy goal and it solves people problem.
Advocacy is a tool for social entrepreneurs for approaching social problem and peace fully using this tool is more effective and remarkable.

ABHAY KUMAR

Mr. Abhay belonged from Hyderabad, he perused his engineering degree in Electronics and after that he joined MNC in Banglore and worked for 5 years. He inspired by himself to work in social sector in Raichur, he started working on Devadasi system.

Advocacy :

His organization is working on social problems which comes from people. He used Advocacy tool for fighting against social problems. While doing advocacy these twelve things we have to remember -
Ø Advocacy should be done by people who affected by the issue
Ø Understanding the issue theoretical and practical aspects both in local contents and in other parts of country and the world.
Ø Believe in the issue as belief in the strategy is important.
Ø Grass root level work on the issue, both activism and constructive involvement.
Ø To work along with the media and not use the media.
Ø Data collection and presentation should be human, not just statistics.
Ø To always have the goals broke down in to short term, medium term and long term demands.
Ø Understanding of the government administrative machinery and way of working is very important.
Ø Should have well wishes in all fields.
Ø Proper use of all forums available sensitive days of year and reacting to important events is very essential.
Ø Regular follow-ups is a very important.

Ø Attack the issue simultaneously from many fronts, also one is some required to take two steps back and then move ahead.

Ø Always fight for issue not people responsible. (Reference: Abhay)

MANIVANNAN

"LIFE IS SHORT TO ACHIEVE SO PLAN AND ACHIEVE"

On 6th of March we had Manivannan as a guest speaker who was former commissioner of Hubli-Dharwad. He spoke about life that death makes life more interesting. Short life span motivates us to do the things more enthusiastically and gives pleasure. If we had longer life then we will be lazy and postpone or neglect the work as we have still more time to do and think let’s take rest, will do afterwards etc. This made us idle and leads to low performance ultimately it affects on personality.

“God is jealous of man because he has no death as him”. Immortality doesn’t allow the god to do things in time. So as a human being we are enjoying like anything and leading family life. We have to think as if today only we live there is on life tomorrow. Then the things will happen and we will be capable to face any circumstances. It makes us fit to adjust with difficulties. He told now you decide how many years do you want to live? If we really passionate to do something then long term isn’t necessary we replied. Thus he encouraged us to have eagerness to wards work.

Mr. Ramji Raghavan

Ramji is a founder of Agastya foundation. It is a science museum. Ramji believes learning happens by these methods by lecture(5%), Reading(10%), Observing and listening (50%),  discussion (70%), Experience(80%), Teaching(95%). Agastya follows these rules “train children to teach children”. Agastya has started its work with one mobile lab and today it has 32 mobile labs. It has got ten branches in north karnataka.

To reach expected goal in business world, we should have three elements such as what to do? Whom to do? How to do? it means by using science, ecology, maths and art as tools for private schools, drop-outs, teachers and for rural children through mobile laboratories and science exhibition in schools.

MR. VIVEK PAVAR

Mr. Vivek powar

Mr. Vivek Pawar is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sankalp Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd.

He shared his valuable experience and life history he shared with COHORT II fellows. Mr. Vivek powar considered tucks as turning point of his life and he learnt by those tucks. When he was a student in school he was not a rank student always he scores 55%-60% average but in his family his brother and sister were state level rank students. Their success and family expectation made him to study eagerly and score 87% percentage in P.U.C. and got engineering seat. While getting the seat his sports qualification’s also considered, he was good in sports he

won many trophies in his school and college days. He likes to play judo, foot ball ect.

Engineering first semester however he completed but in second semester mathematics was very tuff for him and Electrical was easier subject. He completed his exams and got result. It was first time when he failed (Electrical subject) in studies subject. This was one of the tuck in his life and it made him to think differently because till now he had been trying to pass in exam but he realized that how family and society conceder when a person get failure, he took as a

 challenge and went further.

He has scored well in Engineering and after completing his course he joined to TEXAS. In the year 2005 he left that company. Now he is CEO of SANKALP.

His real experience sharing and his some words impacted on me –

  • Competate myself and break last record.
  • Take tucks as learning’s.
  • Failure is a step towards success.
  • You shall do what you cannot do.
  • Don’t do good to people because somebody do good to you but, Do good because you are good.

I need to improve these skills in me.

VILLAGE STUDY WITH SPECIFIED PROBLEM - II

Kambarganive

Monday early morning our journey has started again for

 village study

with our topics. While going we discussed where we have to

stay at that time and what are our

topics and how should we collect information? Form villagers. Should we go alone?

Or with group? For collecting information. These all answers we got and it was good for

 better learning the things. My

thinking was if we would have divided and sent alone to study a village is it possible for us? And at that situation some how we faced real challenge about village

study.

We got down by bus at 10:30a.m. and from Alnavar

cross by walk we went to Kambarganive it was 3 kilometers path. In between that there was a

huge amount of trees jungle. Forest is having 60% trees (Bamboo, tamarind) and formers land was there and they grow crops in that land totally it is a forest

aria and one

forest office was there to protect it.

            First we entered into

school and met to the class teacher, and spent some time with

 children in recreational

activities. We found many hidden talents in them. We visited

 few

houses for collecting data. After that we went to that home where we stayed last time. We had our dinner with those family

members. It was like while my mummy cooking I had meals.

In night we discussed about topic related

information. Next two days we collected information and spent some hours with children in school.

Sweet Mempory
