It was first time when he failed (Electrical subject) in studies subject. This was one of the tuck in his life and it made him to think differently because till now he had been trying to pass in exam but he realized that how family and society conceder when a person get failure, he took as a

His real experience sharing and his some words impacted on me –

  • Competate myself and break last record.
  • Take tucks as learning’s.
  • Failure is a step towards success.
  • You shall do what you cannot do.
  • Don’t do good to people because somebody do good to you but, Do good because you are good.

I need to improve these skills in me.

VILLAGE STUDY WITH SPECIFIED PROBLEM - II

Kambarganive

Monday early morning our journey has started again for

 village study

with our topics. While going we discussed where we have to

stay at that time and what are our

topics and how should we collect information? Form villagers. Should we go alone?

Or with group? For collecting information. These all answers we got and it was good for

 better learning the things. My

thinking was if we would have divided and sent alone to study a village is it possible for us? And at that situation some how we faced real challenge about village

study.

We got down by bus at 10:30a.m. and from Alnavar

cross by walk we went to Kambarganive it was 3 kilometers path. In between that there was a

huge amount of trees jungle. Forest is having 60% trees (Bamboo, tamarind) and formers land was there and they grow crops in that land totally it is a forest

aria and one

forest office was there to protect it.

            First we entered into

school and met to the class teacher, and spent some time with

 children in recreational

activities. We found many hidden talents in them. We visited

 few

houses for collecting data. After that we went to that home where we stayed last time. We had our dinner with those family

members. It was like while my mummy cooking I had meals.

In night we discussed about topic related

information. Next two days we collected information and spent some hours with children in school.

VILLAGE STUDY WITH SPECIFIED PROBLEM

KAMBARGANAVI
17th Feb is for village stay moving day, I woke-up at 5:30 for packing my luggage to stay in village and I won’t prefer more luggages for staying out side, I think some things we can get easily and without them also we can manage. At 7: 45 we (Chandrasekhar, Usha, Fathima, Savita and myself) left hostel and we went to have our Tiffin in the corner of Guesthouse street. It was good time with our friends because all were excited about village stay and while having Tiffin we wished one to another for spending NICE time in village.

We caught Dharvad bus and while going Chandrasekhar has introduced many new places because by that way I was passing first time, he is from Hubli, so he knows very well about this region and one good thing he always wants to give his knowledge by words to others. We arrived at Dharvad bus stand at 9:15 we waited for 20 minutes to catch our next bus, we stepping into RAMAPUR bus as per chinnababu’s instruction we went to that village, when we got down by bus we were in confusion whom to contact? And we were in RAMPUR bus stop. There were few pan shops and tea hotels those who were there looking at us by many questions? And Chandrasekhar took initiation and called to Chinnababu. He has given a number, I called on that number but it was in out of range. By seeing all these kind of activities one old man from that village came to us and asked about us. We told him we are from Hubli and we wanted to meet Basayyshetty. The old man took us to that home where the arrangements made by villagers to stay in that village for Fatima and Savita. They offered us for tea biscuits we had.

Basayyshetty and Manohar came and we introduced and told them “Chinnababu has told to contact you for going to Honnapur”. He told that in Honnapur there were elections going on so suppose some conflict will occur for this reason they have cancelled our village stay From Honnapur and selected KAMBARGANIVE to us. We told that we were ready to move and Basayyshetty dropped by bike me and Usha to KAMBARGANIVE Anganvadi and he went to take Chandrashekhar.

Anganvadi teacher hasn’t come but cook was there I consulted her and asked about teacher she told that the teacher went to dharwad for fair and ‘in those situations, she takes care those children’ but it was not in realty.

I and Usha has mingled with children and played counting and singing games. After that cook has prepared sweet rice for children and served them. Anganvadi has given some picture about village to me, many Muslim children were in Anganvadi by this I assumed in this village Muslims are in highest numbers.

Usha, Chandrashekhar and I, went with our specified topics to collect the information by villagers, our topics are -

· Usha - Health.
· Chandrashekhar - Sources of Income.
· Meenakshi – Education.
According to our topics we have collected information by villagers.

We introduced as social work students to villagers. We kept our luggage in one Muslim home where we visited first and they offered us for lunch, we had our lunch there.
Till evening we visited 10 houses and in the evening we made a friendship with B.Com. Student and he brought us to show where the construction was going on for school building and we visited to church. In church they are approaching to problems of villagers.
In night we had nice dinner and wrote our report and slept.

Second day
Early morning we woke-up and took bath and performed pooja. After having breakfast we went out to collect information.

This village is different from other villages because commonly in villages caste wise houses built in areas but here Muslims and Hindus houses were mixed and there is no differentiation. And both caste people have their own adjustments.

URDU MEDIUM SCHOOL

First we visited URDU medium school and we met Head miss in that school. I and Usha introduced our self. Head miss is so strong and her words inspired Usha a lot and she introduced herself as D.F. part. Chandrashekhar was with other sir in other class he introduced as a social work student and learner. At that time I got tension and went to Chandrashekhar and took him to office. And that sir also entered in office I introduced myself and I introduced Usha as our Guide. Than we thought now sitting there was inviting problems for our study so we left early from there.

            Ex-PRESIDENT

We visited GRAM PANCHAYAT Ex-PRESIDENT home in the evening and got some valuable data and information.

The Kambarganavi name is there since more than 50 years and it is famous for Tigers, Bears, Jaguars, Peacocks and thick Forest around the village. But now days the animals are not coming towards village because most of the land is used for cultivation. Out of 700acres of land approximately 500acres of the land is irrigated. Some of the villagers said that earlier there were many Pillars so it is called by Kambarganavi. Kambarganavi is having 85% of Muslims, and only 15% of the people are Hindus and there is no any particular reason for this. This village has no caste difference because the outsider has come to this village and built a Church and the place is donated by villagers to him/her.

Population

Village

Migrant from other place

Muslims

75%

10%

Hindus

10%

5%

So here majority of people in this village are Muslims and Hindus are very less, though there is no any issue between these two castes till now and they are very cooperative.

Ex-president of gram Panchayat has given us the examples of Developments done in his period such as:-

constructed houses for people who doesn’t have houses under Ashraya Yojana and Indira Awas projects, and he has conducted every month Gram Sabha to solve problems like street lights, drainage lines, and roads. He has supported the proper channelizing of ration given to the people and nutritional foods given to the children and pregnancy women. Fortnightly the Doctor has been called for treatment in the village. Villagers need to go for banking, higher schooling, and Primary Health Centre nearby the village called Aravatagi.

THIRD DAY

That was the last day of that visit so I thought cross verify my information, and as much as possible I had to collect information related to “women illiteracy”.

We set-out from home at 8:30 a.m. for visiting poultry, in that village there was a single poultry and it was well constructed all the facilities has provided for raring hens but only few hens they kept there and that business was in loss.

KANNADA MEDIUM SCHOOL

In kambarganive there is a Kannada Medium school and we visited that school. I wanted to know education system in that village. We met to school teachers and took permission to address 4rt, 5th and 6th class.

GOAL CONCEPT IN STUDENTS

I have instructed them through introducing myself, behind it my intention to make them aware about further education. I told them, they have to introduce them, with sharing their goal. It made them to think about their goal and “How they should put their efforts to reach that goal” and I have given details about some courses which one they have to chose for reaching their goal.

After noon we had lunch with school teachers and children. “AKSHAY PATRA” has sent that mid day meals.

Since afternoon till evening we went door to door to collect information regarding our topics. These all about my three days village stay details and now it is about my topic.

“WOMEN ILLITERACY”

In three different homes I got three different causes behind leaving their school or not getting literacy-

·        Widow women who lost her husband in the age of 19 and has 2 children.

One woman who has lost her mother and in home there is nobody to work.·        If she does higher education than her husband will become low in front of her. These three made me to select this topic for Village study.CAUSES BEHIND ILLITERACY BY VILLAGERS AND ACCORDING TO MY OBSERVATION –1. Language problem.2. Gender discrimination.3. Early marriage-            Early pregnancy, Population, Health problem.4. Transportation.5. Passing canal in rainy season.6. House hold works. My next step….What is the impact of illiteracy on woman life:-(Comparing literate and Illiterate)}  Health status. Child birth rate.}  Child joining to school.
