PUBLIC HEALTH
Ms. Meenakshi Varma-Agraval taught us in a admirable information in superb way. First we all introduced our self and shared our weekend activity. after that she explained about Health related issue. she gave a assignment to write about reading material. It was a good experience for all the fellows Analise our learning.
After this she explained about "URBAN HEALTH IN INDIA", It has covered health related all the aspects. Ex:-Child mortality, poverty, malnutrition, water.
"Debate"
Topics are -
1.Sex education in primary school.
2.Smoking seen in movies.
In a very systematic way we have presented our debate, before that we read our reading material and we have discussed in group,it made us esier to how we had to debate our topic. all are tried their level best.
"Case Studies"
All the fellows divided in 2 member each group, and 2 types case studies has distributed in fellows. The instruction was -
- Critical issues,
- Intervention,
- Problem,
- Solution.
all these points had to cover our topic, after reading and discussing topics we presented it infront of class.
"Convince funding agency"
We have to have our own project and introduce it infront of funding agency and try to convince them towards fund our project.
- Divided into 5 groups.
- Our discussion about our own project.
- Funding agency members were- Malini, Ajay and Shekhar.
- Fund amount was 25,000 Rs.
all groups have covered almost all the points (Vision, Mission, Goal, Fund rising methodology, Local contribution, Donors, How we have been providing services, Strength, Monitoring and evaluation system).
Fellows projects are-
- Safe Health Foundation.(Health)
- H.U.D.(Sanitation)
- Samastya (S.H.G.)
- Save Health (Water, Cleanness)
- Khushi (H.I.V./A.I.D.S.)
After our presentation about these project Funders has asked some questions related with our projects. Sharp Donors were there. Lastly They have selected Samasty and donated 25,000 to that project and their words why they selected samastya project members had clear picture about project. and funding amount was less, they wanted to fund one project because funders wanted to see sustainable existence of project.
